Ethan is so helpful around the house and loves to help me water the plants- sometimes a little too much. He drowns the poor plants in water because he just wants to keep watering! But he loves it so much and it is so funny that I can't say no.

Trying dad's clothes on for size!

Ethan loves trying on his dad's (and mom's sometimes) hats and shoes. Here are some cute pics of him. He is so funny!

A trip to Gettysburg!!!!

I have been lucky enough to have my mom and sisters visit enough that I am actually running out of sites to show them in the DC area. And believe me, there is no shortage of sites around here. So this time we took a little road trip to Gettysburg, PA, the site of the deciding battle of the Civil War. It is a very powerful place. You basically tour the battleground in your car with an audio tour guide on a CD. It is a beautiful area and the sense of history is amazing. Plus Jay and I get to take up battle positions on a cannon. How can you beat that?

Cherry Blossom time!

Without a doubt, my favorite time of the year in DC is Cherry Blossom time! Wait a second. I may take that back. Okay it is neck and neck with the 4th of July. This year the Cherry Blossoms were gorgeous, although it was just a little on the chilly side. My mom and my 2 sisters came to see them and we had a great time wandering around the Tidal Basin. I will never get tired of how beautiful the city looks this time of the year, especially right around the Tidal Basin, with the Jefferson Memorial on one side and the Washington Monument on the other.

Just watching TV with my dinosaurs!

So I don't know about others of you out there, but my tactic for being able to get ready in the morning is to put on a little Sesame Street to keep Ethan entertained so I can get ready for the day. Well, one morning I come out to the living room and here he is sitting on the couch and he had gone to his bedroom and gotten 2 of his dinosaurs and set them up next to him like they were watching TV with him. It was just so funny! He is such a silly boy!

On the hunt for an Easter basket!

Here is Ethan on his 2nd easter morning! I would be interested to hear what traditions other families have for Easter, but what we always did in my family is the "Easter bunny" would hid our Easter basket and when we woke up Easter morning we went on the hunt to find it. I always loved this tradition, so we plan to carry it on with Ethan. Of course, he wouldn't quite understand so we didn't hide the basket to well. But here he is finding his Easter basket. In addition to dinosaurs he also loves Elmo (what kid doesn't. Really, I would like to find a kid who doesn't like Elmo- what is is about that little red creature?). He got an Elmo doll, an Elmo movie and some dinosaurs and other fun things. Ethan is getting so big and handsome! He is just adorable in these pictures. We were lucky to also have my mom out visiting for Easter, so here he is with Nana also.

Backyard fun

This was also in California. We had so much fun one day playing out in the back yard. Auntie C pulled Ethan and Sydney all over in a laundry basket and grandpa and Ethan played a little T-ball. There may have been a little pushing and shoving in the laundry basket (as you can see in the picture), but everyone had fun!
