Trick or Treating

We took the kids Trick or Treating in our neighborhood this year and they had a blast!  Except in our townhome community there are so many stairs up to each house it was pretty exhausting!  But Ethan couldn't get enough!  After a while little Avery was done, but Ethan could go all night.  They both got way too much candy and so much fun.  Every house we went to thought Avery was so adorable.  And Ethan had a blast running the neighborhood with his friends who live next door - Sophia and Ishibu.

We went to the Thueson's house to carve pumpikins this year and the kids had a great time!

Ethan's Preschool Halloween Party

Ethan's preschool had a Halloween party that we went to with a Halloween parade and some fun games.  The parade was so cute with the kids walking in a little circle through the parking lot and waving.  He loves his preschool!

Halloween Trunk or Treat 2011

This year for Halloween, Ethan really wanted to be something scary, so mummy it was!  And Avery was my cute little lady bug.  I made her costume, which was alot of fun.  The highlight of Halloween is always the ward Halloween Trunk or Treat and this year was no exception!  Ethan even won "Scariest Costume", which was  probably his proudest moment!  He was thrilled!  The kids loved the fishing game, the crafts and most of all the Trunk or Treating.  I love Halloween!

Eating brown sugar out of the bag!

Yes, that is paint on the wall.  Luckily it was washable paint!  I just love this little girl!  She does love to run naked alot for some reason - as pictured here, occasionally with nothing but leggings!  Wouldn't want those legs to get cold!  And she also LOVES to climb up on the counters.  Her climbing abilities are actually quite impressive.  She will sometimes push chairs to climb up, but often she just climbs up the drawer handles, which drives me crazy!  She knows right where the candy is and right where the baking supplies are (AKA chocolate chips, sugar and brown sugar).  So this day I came into the kitchen to find her shoving handfuls of brown sugar in her mouth.  Who can blame her?  Avery is such trouble, but such joy!  I don't know what I would do without my little girl!

The Big Announcement!

Yes, it's true.  We are about to have enough family members to form a basketball team:)  This little one is due May 2 and we couldn't be more excited - other than the morning sickness, feeling tired, etc.  This is how I announced it to my family - Jay's family found out a little early because we were all together in the outer banks, so I announced it to them by Avery wearing a "Big Sister" shirt.

Ethan's Preschool Field Trip

For Ethan's school field trip his class went to Great Country Farms.  The kids took a ride to the pumpkin patch and all sprinted to pick out gourds and pumpkins, which was apparently a very big decision!  They got to hear about how pumpkins grow, feed the animals and play on the slides and bouncy pillow!  They had a great time.  He loves preschool and his class.  His favorite friends are Peter,  Dominic, Logan and Patrick.

A trip to the Zoo with Aunt Margaret

Jay's Aunt Margaret was in DC and we were able to take a trip to the zoo with her.  The kids had a great time and it was so fun to see her!

Ethan's Soccer Fall 2011

This picture pretty much sums up this soccer season!  It was cold and wet and we got rained out more than we played!  But when Ethan did play, he had fun!  Here's hoping the Spring is better!

T-Ball Fall 2011

I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I signed Ethan up for both soccer and T-Ball this fall - it was alot! He had fun in T-Ball, but the only problem is the kids don't get to play as much in T-ball.  There is a lot of standing around and you only get the ball when you are the pitcher or are on 1st base.  The kids in the outfield never get the ball.  So I think until he is older we will stick with soccer.  But Ethan did a great job batting!  I think someday he will definitely give baseball a try!
