Luray Caverns

While my mom and Carla were here visiting, we took a trip to Luray Caverns.  I had never been there and it was a really cool place!  Keeping the kids on the path was quite a chore, especially Avery, but I think they had fun also.  Afterward we did the maze, which Ethan just loved!

Circus!

I should have taken more pictures than this, but we took the kids to a little circus and here is a picture of them there.  They really loved the circus and my mom and Carla were here visiting, which was alot of fun.

Ragnar 2011

Somehow I got talked into running the Ragnar Relay with some girls from my ward.  It is a crazy run where there are 12 runners total on a team in 2 groups of 6 and you run a total of 200 miles total.  Our team was called "Running With the Devils" and the girls were so fun, we all had devil horns, a talk and these cute devil leg warmers.  Each runner does 3 legs of varying distances and levels of difficulty.  When I signed up to run this race I wasn't pregnant, but found out I was pregnant a few weeks before the run.  But I picked some moderate runs and hoped the morning sickness wouldn't make life too miserable!  The craziest part is that you run 24 hours a day.  So you may be running at midnight or 3AM or any time of day, depending on your leg.  I had one middle of the night run that I was really nervous about.  It was through pretty remote farming country and I was a little scared, but shockingly once I started running it turned out to be my favorite leg of the race.  It was really calm and peaceful running in the dark.  It turned out to be quite an experience!  I am not sure I will ever do it again - it was intense!  Mostly the lack of sleep and all the time in the van was the crazy part, but it was also alot of fun and really cool to be able to say I did it!  The race started in Cumberland Maryland and ended at the National Harbor in Washington DC.  It was a really cool place to finish and they had a band and lots of fun things at the finish line.

Avery's 2nd Birthday

I just LOVE this little girl!  My baby turned 2 and we had to celebrate by having a big party!  We invited some of her favorite friends and at cute flower cupcakes and just let the little ones play!  Avery had a great time and looked so adorable!  I can't believe she is already 2!  Avery really is the life of our family - she knows what she wants and is just such a strong little person!  She can always make me laugh at her cute little antics.  I love her so much!

First Day of School!

Here is my big boy on his first day of Pre-school!  This year he will be doing Pre-Kindergarten at St. Davids Episcopal Preschool.  He is in the Eagles class and is very excited to start school!  When we went to check out his classroom before school started, he was so excited about how fun his classroom looks!  After I picked him up from his first day, you can tell it wore him out!  He passed out in the car on the way home!

Pool Fun

Probably my favorite part of this vacation was having our very own pool.  The kids played in the pool non-stop and it was so convenient having it all to ourselves.  They had so much fun together!  One day they all played chicken and had a blast with their dads!
